THE STORY SO FAR ✧

A little cluttered.
A lot of character.

Some places make you feel at home the moment you step through the door. We'd like to think this is one of them.

Holstein's Books has been a familiar stop on Odyssey's Main Street for years, serving everyone from first-time readers to serious collectors. The shelves are full, the aisles are a little winding, and the conversations have a way of running long.

The shop was once run by Fred Holstein, whose memorable sayings were almost as plentiful as the books. When Fred's brother Wilhelm took over, he kept the family name over the door—and the same love of books behind it.

Longtime shoppers may even remember Katrina Shanks helping out among the stacks. Some things about a neighborhood bookshop are worth holding on to.

A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR EVERY READER

What's on our shelves?

AN OLD-FASHIONED IDEA

A bookstore is better when you don't know exactly what you'll find.

Wander a little. Read the first page. Ask for a recommendation. There's no wrong way to browse.

A FAMILIAR FACE BEHIND THE COUNTER

Meet your bookseller,
Wilhelm Holstein.

Holstein's is still a family affair. Wilhelm carries on the shop's traditions with a keen eye for an interesting title, a fondness for rare finds, and plenty of time for a good conversation.

Not sure what you're looking for? That's quite all right. Tell Wilhelm what you've enjoyed lately, and he'll be glad to point you toward another shelf.

A NOTE FROM THE BOOKSELLER
“The best part of this job is when somebody comes in for one book and goes home with a story they never expected.”
